Hunt for Heroes

A Hunting Event Sponsored by the Yardbird Hunting Club. Eagle Lake,
TX
On December 15, 2009, we had a wonderful opportunity to take four
wounded U.S. veterans out for a great duck hunt in Eagle Lake, Texas.
The event was sponsored by the Yardbird Hunting Club in Eagle Lake,
Texas. The event went as followed:
There was no shortage of Yardbird Club members to help in every way.
All were awaiting arrival of our four honored guest hunters. By 4:00
p.m., they were introduced and had a warm up on a clay bird course
getting their shooting skills tuned up for the morning hunt.
Afterwards, they were entertained by Brian Szczech of Gold-Plated
Gundogs showing off the skill set of some of the High Flying Gold-Plated
Gundog Retriever team. All enjoyed.

The weather was on the colder side so everyone went back to the Hotel
for one of the best steak dinners to be offered–Texas style.
Adding some fine conversation, this was turning out to be a night remembered
by all. Getting to sleep was tough with Duck hunting stories being
told around a big campfire.
The next morning turned out to be what everyone was hoping for: Clear
skies, plenty of ducks and some pretty darn good shooting by our guests.
It was a hunt to be remembered by all.
We cannot wait for next years 'Hunt for Heroes'. A day worth every
moment.
